Daniel Ricciardo quipped that he “might go drown in my ice bath” as he was eliminated in Q1 at the Singapore Grand Prix amid rumours over his Formula 1 prospects. Ricciardo came into this weekend with the microscope on his position in the sport as speculation emerged that this could even be his last outing with RB this season.

After losing his McLaren seat at the end of 2022, eight-time grand prix winner Ricciardo returned to F1 midway through 2023 with Red Bull’s sister team, AlphaTauri, now known as RB. He quickly set his sights on returning to the senior Red Bull team, where he raced between 2014 and 2018.
