3 people dead, 2 officers injured in shooting at Elkhart grocery
On Tuesday afternoon, the Elkhart County Prosecutor’s Office identified the two people killed in the grocery: Benjamin S. Jeffery, 49, and Annasue Rocha, 19, both of Elkhart. Rocha worked at Martin’s, and Jeffery was a customer in the grocery.
The motive for the shooting is unclear. The Elkhart County Homicide Unit is leading the investigation, with assistance from the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office and the Indiana State Police.
Elkhart is a community that is hurting in the wake of the deadly shooting at the Martin’s Super Market on Jackson Boulevard.
