The upstart Reform UK party has emerged as a serious contender in British politics. The right-wing populist movement is threatening to overtake the ruling Labour Party in the polls and its leader, Nigel Farage,

Nigel Farage and Lee Anderson are among three Reform MPs accused of profiting from “spreading hateful rhetoric” after it emerged they’ve made thousands of pounds from posting on Elon Musk’s X.

Nigel Farage has recruited the nephew of American conspiracy theorist and TV host Tucker Carlson to Reform UK’s press office.

The crowd seemed to be having fun, even though it is plain some of those gathered there have been drawn in because they are deeply disgruntled with the status quo in the UK. A newly joined party member said he was there because Farage "is a breath of fresh air" and current politicians were failing to give younger generations a chance to get on.

Mr Musk’s allyship with Mr Farage would seem like a natural fit, given that the Reform leader’s relationship with Mr Trump goes back much further. The pair first met in 2016, shortly after the president-elect’s first election victory, and they are thought to have remained allies since.

Already a rebel group of councillors have stood up against Farage's leadership, primarily because of issues they have with party management. Then there is the Elon Musk bust-up, after the billionaire declared Reform should change leader, apparently due to Farage not backing Tommy Robinson.

Elon Musk has suggested that Reform UK needs to replace Nigel Farage with a new leader. The Tesla tycoon said Mr Farage, who founded the party and is credited with its recent surge in the polls, “does not have what it takes”.
