A First Warn Weather Day is in place today - heavy rainfall, flash flooding, and storms will be possible throughout the day. Several Flash Flood Warnings are in effect across the area, with more rain on the radar.
The system likely won't develop into a tropical depression or storm, and it will likely cool us off after a sweltering few days. Here's more.
According to the National Weather Service in State College, York County will be under a heat advisory until 8 p.m. Friday with a high temperature of 96 degrees and heat index values around 104 degrees. Friday night, it will be partly cloudy with a low around 73.

Trees and power lines came down in parts of the area. Damage was reported in Bolingbrook, Naperville, and other communities to the west and southwest.

More rain is expected Friday and Saturday as a system continues to move west-northwest on the north-central Gulf as of Friday morning.
Clouds are around this morning, but sunshine takes over this afternoon and temperatures will hold in the upper 70s and lower 80s. Rain showers will remain to the south. Saturday will start off dry with temperatures in the middle 60s.
Today will be mostly cloudy with showers/storms developing, rain may be heavy at times with highs only in the upper 80s to near 90.
