The first event of the PGA Tour's 2025 schedule is in the books. Hideki Matsuyama captured The Sentry in record-setting fashion, shooting 35 under for the week and setting a new record for score in relation to par and most birdies or better (35) in a single PGA Tour event.

Those who qualified but opted not to play were Tommy Fleetwood, Shane Lowry, Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler. Scheffler, the tour’s player of the year for 2024.
