Pulse may not have been good, but by virtue of being Netflix’s first foray into medical procedurals — one of television’s longest-running and most-successful genres — Pulse was going to be precedent-setting one way or another.

The lights are out and doors have closed on The Residence, as Netflix has canceled the White House-set murder mystery after just one season. Starring Uzo Aduba as Cordelia Cupp, the “greatest detective in the world,” Shonda Rhimes ‘ whodunnit joins freshman medical drama Pulse on the chopping block of canceled shows.

Zoe Robyn created Pulse and was a co-showrunner and executive producer with Carlton Cuse. The fate of two Netflix shows has been revealed, and unfortunately, it's not good news. The Residence and Pulse have both been cancelled.
