Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca has reaveled that his side have been dealt a huge injury blow after Nicolas Jackson and Marc Guiu suffered setbacks against West Ham.

Midfielder Mathis Amougou, 19, was the club’s only new signing from St Etienne. On Felix’s exit, Maresca added: “We decided, all together, that it was a good option for him to leave. “To be honest, he never complained. He has been very good with us, professional, just a matter of my decision.

Guiu has improved enough to show Maresca that he deserves a place in his first-team squad, helped by six goals being netted in the Conference League. The door has seemingly opened for Christopher Nkunku to earn more opportunities down the centre of Chelsea's attack, at least in the short term.
