Louisiana Gov. Jeff Landry (R) has said he pushed for a tiger to appear before LSU’s football game against Alabama, resuming a school tradition.

An LSU student has been arrested after allegedly making an online threat to kill Louisiana Gov. Jeff Landry, who advocated for bringing a live tiger onto the field as part of a recent college football game.

LSU previously ended the tradition of bringing a live tiger to the sidelines of games in 2016, when Mike VI died.

No state or LSU funds were used "for any aspect of the tiger" that made an appearance at the LSU-Alabama game Saturday, Gov. Jeff Landry's office said. The office declined to answer where the funds to pay the organization that owns the Bengal tiger, named Omar Bradley, came from.
