Star India wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant is likely to be named the skipper of the Sanjika Goenka-owned Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) franchise

KL Rahul had captained LSG in their first three IPL seasons, guiding the franchise to playoffs in the initial two years but falling short of a final spot.

Rishabh Pant is set to be named captain of Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) from the 2025 season. Pant became the most expensive player in the IPL at the November 2024 mega auction after being bought by LSG for INR 27 crore (US$ 3.21 million approx.) after he opted to go into the auction.

After buying him for a record-breaking Rs 27 crore price at the IPL 2025 Auction, Lucknow Super Giants are reportedly going to make Rishabh Pant their new captain ahead of IPL 2025. Pant had left Delhi Capitals as they were not offering him captaincy.
