President Donald Trump celebrated Greek Independence Day at the White House on Monday with a proclamation declaring 204 years of "glorious Greek sovereignty and freedom."

"I would like to thank, from the bottom of our heart, the residents of the Kibbutz Be’eri, who welcomed us in their premises,” Greece’s Ambassador to Israel Maya Solomou told attendees.

The City of Aurora will also raise the flag of Greece at noon on Tuesday at One Aurora Plaza, 8 E. Galena Blvd. Tuesday also marks Greek Independence Day, March 25, which is celebrated around the world. The Greek national holiday commemorates the start of the War for Greek Independence in 1821.
