Jason Momoa is set to write, star in, and executive produce Chief of War, a new limited series for Apple TV+ that will delve into the history of Hawaii.
The series, starring Jason Momoa, is inspired by true events and is a "passion project" for the Hawaii native; Chief of War premieres on Aug. 1; One of Hawaii's epic tales is coming to life.
In “Chief of War,” Momoa will play Hawaiian warrior chief Ka‘iana who, believing himself to be on the outs with Kamehameha I, opposed the king in the Battle of Nu‘uanu in 1795.
