There were close to 1,200 total plays run over the first nine games of the Browns' season. All of those plays added up to a 2-7 record. All of that has, for all intents and purposes, ended Cleveland's playoff hopes.

The Browns will have eight games remaining after the bye week, which will give them eight chances to answer some questions on defense.

At long last, the Browns — and their fans — get a week off. When the Browns come off bye next week, they have eight more games to play. They play three home games and five road games. Half of the games come against AFC North opponents.

The Browns (2-7) have a bye this week to try and flip the script that has so far been written for this season. It’s not likely, but they could still finish with a 10-7 record and make the playoffs. First of all the Browns need better play from the quarterback position.
