A new rain storm is bearing down on California, including fire-ravaged Los Angeles, where residents are bracing for the possibility of mudslides and landslides.

An atmospheric river is expected to bring torrential rain to California this week, threatening parts of the state with flash floods and mudslides.

The biggest storm of the winter, packing a firehose of rain across much of California, will trigger flooding, mudslides and road closures that may put lives and property at risk during the latter part of this week.
