In a statement, the Holy See press office said that due to a fall Thursday morning in the Casa Santa Marta, the pope’s residence, the 88-year-old pontiff “suffered a contusion to his right forearm, without fracture.”

Pope Francis suffered a fall in his apartment on Thursday, his second in just more than a month’s time, the Vatican said.

Pope Francis is beloved for his compassion and concern for the poor, sick, and injured. Now he is sparking concern after the 88-year-old suffered yet another fall. Several weeks ago, the pontiff suffered a “chinjury” after bruising his chin when he fell on his nightstand.
