Tesla takes the wraps off its long-awaited Juniper refresh for Model Y, with China set to receive the first cars.

Tesla has officially rolled out a refreshed version of the Model Y in China, featuring new interior upgrades and improved features.

The update is the first major revamp for the Model Y since the electric compact crossover's debut in 2019. The most noticeable change is the new styling, which features a chiseled front end with a light strip that matches the design of the Cybercab robotaxi. A light strip also replaces the separate brake lights found on the current Model Y.

According to German media outlet Handelsblatt ,​​​​​​ production of the Model Y Juniper is set to begin today at its Grünheide plant, a facility that, up until now, has only built Model Ys. According to sources close to the matter, the plant's employees were informed about this new production roadmap on Monday.

European examples of the updated Model Y Juniper will begin rolling off the production line at Giga Berlin as soon as tomorrow.
