Houston travel: Bush, Hobby Airport to be on ground delays due to staffing on Tuesday afternoon
The Federal Aviation Administration has announced ground delays at both Bush Intercontinental Airport and Hobby Airport due to staffing.
Photos shared with KPRC 2 shows the line for screening at Terminal E going outside the terminal and down the sidewalk. On Friday, the Houston Airports System alerted travelers to arrive early and prepare for long wait times at Bush Intercontinental Airport as the only TSA checkpoints open will be at Terminal A and Terminal E.
A ground stop at William P. Hobby Airport was expected to last until 6 p.m., while a ground delay at George Bush Intercontinental Airport was expected to last until 9:30 p.m., according to the FAA.
The FAA issued a ground stop until 5:45 p.m., for flights departing to Hobby Airport. We contacted Hobby officials, who confirmed to KHOU 11 that the reason was staffing. Bush Airport is also listed on the FAA’s website, with a ground stop possible. We've reached out to Bush for the reason.
