Kemp's ridley sea turtles nest on Texas beaches from April through mid-July. Beachgoers should be careful as the endangered turtles cross the sand.

Meagan Furey opened a flower shop, BeachN' Blooms, on Padre Island in Feb. to use the profits to help pay her mom's medical bills. A day before the original grand opening, Meagan's mom passed away.

These coral fragments, named for their distinctive maze-like patterns resembling the human brain, are rare finds along Gulf beaches.
