Yesterday’s PS5 system update stealthily fixed a long-running issue that plagued both the base console and PS5 Pro. As we’ve reported over the last several months, it has been confirmed that PS5 and PS5 Pro suffered from a VRR (variable refresh rate) stuttering issue that affects a mix of first-party and third-party games.

A demo for the game is live today on PS5 and it'll be available through June 18, courtesy of developer Team Ninja and publisher Koei Tecmo.

After the State of Play, the Switch 2 launches on June 5. Then on June 6, Geoff Keighley's Summer Game Fest begins. The Xbox Games Showcase, meanwhile, takes place on Sunday, June 8. GameSpot will bring you all the major news from the events as it happens.

PS5 Pro just got its first-ever price cut. The most powerful PlayStation ever made has been discounted by $50, dropping the top-tier console from an eyewatering $699 to a slightly less stinging $649.

Sony's fight stick is well-timed, given it's working on Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls, a new 4v4 Marvel fighting game from Arc System Works, the developer of the Guilty Gear series. That's also out 2026, so perhaps we'll see the game and stick come out around the same time.
