Four pro-Palestinian protesters have been held in custody after appearing in a London courtroom over charges connected to an incident involving damage to Royal Air Force planes

Four pro-Palestinian activists have been charged after breaking into a military air base in central England last month and damaging two planes in protest against Britain's support for Israel.

The powers used against the members of a group called Palestine Action are more usually employed in cases of planned jihadist or far-right violence.
