Klay Thompson finished the loss with 18 points, two rebounds and three assists while shooting 7/15 from the field and 4/11 from the three-point range in 32 minutes of playing time. Thompson had signed with the Mavs (over the summer) to help them return to the NBA Finals.

The Mavs defeated the Sacramento Kings on Wednesday night, 120-106, buoyed by a 44-point second quarter. Anthony Davis led the way, putting up 27 points, nine rebounds and three blocks, while Klay Thompson added 23 points on 5-of-7 shooting from three. DeMar DeRozan paced the Kings with 33 points.

Klay Thompson's performance Wednesday was in stark contrast to last season's play-in flop and helped the Mavericks eliminate the Kings for a shot at the West's final playoff berth.
