Chelsea have confirmed the signing of Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap in a £30million deal. The England Under-21 star established himself as one of the Premier League’s top young players last season, scoring 12 Premier League goals in 37 appearances as the Tractor Boys were relegated, triggering his cut-price release clause.

Chelsea have completed the signing of striker Liam Delap from Ipswich Town for a £30m fee. The 22-year-old has signed a six-year contract at Stamford Bridge after the Blues met a release clause in his Ipswich deal that was activated following their relegation from the Premier League.

Chelsea used the opening of a special trading window from June 1-10 to add a centre forward to its squad, with the 22-year-old Delap set to provide competition for first-choice striker Nicolas Jackson
