Israel struck Yemen’s Houthis on Sunday after the Iran-backed rebels fired a new type of missile at Israel. The Israeli military said it struck a military site where the presidential palace is located, as well as two power plants and a fuel storage site.

Israeli airstrikes have hit Yemen’s capital, just days after the Iranian-backed Houthi rebels fired what the Israeli military described as the first cluster bomb launched by the rebels since 2023

It now appears that a Houthi ballistic missile launched against Israel on Friday contained cluster munitions. This also appears to be the first time the Iranian-backed Houthis have used this type of missile against Israel. Iran has long used the Houthis to test new missile and drone technology.
