Duke's Cooper Flagg is in some elite company. Only a handful of Blue Devils have ever been chosen No. 1 overall in the NBA Draft. Flagg, the freshman phenom from Maine, is the latest. The Dallas Mavericks took him with the first pick on Wednesday night.

As expected, the Dallas Mavericks selected Duke Blue Devils star Cooper Flagg with the No. 1 overall pick in Wednesday night’s NBA draft, making him just the second player from Maine ever to be drafted.

Forward Cooper Flagg was selected by the Dallas Mavericks with the No. 1 pick, forward Kon Knueppel went to the Charlotte Hornets with the fourth pick, while center Khaman Maluach was selected 10th by the Houston Rockets and re-routed to the Phoenix Suns. Mauluach specifically showed plenty of emotion.
