Kate, the Princess of Wales, turns 43 on Thursday, capping what was a tumultuous year for the mother of three and wife of Prince William. Kate, who was born Jan. 9, 1982, is expected to spend her birthday privately with William and their kids -- Princes George and Louis and Princess Charlotte -- at home in Windsor, England.

Prince William marked his wife Kate Middleton’s 43rd birthday Thursday with a social media post praising her “remarkable strength” over the past year. Kate was diagnosed with cancer in February after being admitted to hospital for abdominal surgery in January 2024.

While Kate Middleton has since returned to the spotlight, Prince William was the face of their family in public and his wife's No. 1 champion at home while she underwent chemotherapy.
