And until now, Android hasn’t given users a reliable way to check what’s going on under the hood. Google is quietly rolling out a new Battery Health section in the latest Android 16 betas, finally giving some Pixel users a native way to see how much life their battery has left.

Google is planning to introduce a new “Battery health assistance” feature on the upcoming Pixel 9a and other models to help maximize the lifespan of the devices' battery.

Due to the adjusted capacity, Google notes that you may see a slight decrease in your battery's runtime as it ages. Likewise, the Battery health assistance feature will also adjust the phone's charging speed based on capacity, so your Pixel 9a might not charge as fast as it does initially.
