The Surface Pro defined the 2-in-1 detachable category as capable, full-featured Windows laptops with highly versatile, ultra-portable designs. The Surface Pro form factor has never been aimed at gamers and users who demand ridiculous levels of power, but ASUS decided to do it anyways with the fantastically weird ROG Flow Z13.

The new ROG Flow Z13 (GZ302EA-XS96) 2-in-1 is now available for pre-order in Canada with deliveries starting from February 25 th, 2025, via the ASUS Store, and Best Buy. Equipped with the newly announced AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395 with Radeon 8060S graphics, 32 GB of RAM, and 1 TB of storage, it starts at C$2,999.

I really like Asus’ ROG Flow Z13 for what it is: a convertible tablet with way more gaming power than you would think. Looking at this thing, you might expect to see it propped up at an airport bar, in front of somebody talking into wireless headphones about Tim in Product.

Asus ROG Flow Z13 is a hybrid device that never quite feels at home amongst either laptops or tablets. It’s still one of the best devices I’ve had the pleasure of testing, though.
