Outgoing Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor Shaktikanta Das thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, and his team at the central bank on his last day in office.

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor Shaktikanta Das met with Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Saturday. The meeting came just ahead of the expiry of the governor’s extended term.

Shaktikanta Das’s Legacy Malhotra takes over from Shaktikanta Das, who led the RBI through some of the most turbulent times in recent history, including the COVID-19 pandemic.

His tie says it – "one of Gene's ties that I bought for $3," he says, gesturing to the brilliant orange tie he's wearing. His car screams it. And then there's the matter of his house.
