GTC Nvidia is investing in a research center to advance quantum computing development, just weeks after its head honcho torpedoed the share price of quantum firms by declaring the tech is decades away from being useful.

The problem with sending quantum computing stocks soaring is there is no guarantee Nvidia will actually reveal one. It is all based on speculation by Mizuho Securities analyst Vijay Rakesh who suggested it might do so. If Nvidia and Huang don’t deliver, expect quantum computing stocks to crash once more.
