A Guatemalan man found by a federal judge to have been "wrongfully" deported by the Trump administration has been returned to the United States and is in immigration custody, his attorney confirmed.

The man, who is gay, was protected from being returned to his home country under a U.S. immigration judge’s order at the time. But the U.S. put him on a bus and sent him to Mexico instead, a removal that U.S. District Judge Brian Murphy found likely “lacked any semblance of due process.”

The Trump administration is trying to return a Guatemalan national, named “O.C.G.” in court filings, who was deported to Mexico earlier this month.
