The Phoenix Suns just traded Kevin Durant for a younger, edgier version of Devin Booker; a younger, more unhinged version of Draymond Green; the potential to draft a guy who projects to be what Deandre Ayton was supposed to be; and they’re getting enough second-round picks to fill a second unit with try-hards.

The Phoenix Suns traded Kevin Durant to the Houston Rockets for Jalen Green, Dillon Brooks, the No. 10 pick in the 2025 draft, and five second-round picks. The Suns now have a surplus of guards, including Green, Devin Booker, Bradley Beal, and Dillon Brooks. The Miami Heat also pursued Durant but were ultimately unable to land the difference maker.

Signaling the start of a new era for the Suns, the blockbuster deal could open the door for the team’s other stars — namely Devin Booker — to potentially become available on the trade block. That’s where the New York Knicks swoop in.
