The inquiry follows a House GOP referral that alleges Cuomo lied when testifying before Congress about his handling of the COVID pandemic.

Two officials familiar with the matter say the Justice Department has opened an investigation into former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo over his congressional testimony during the COVID-19 pandemic. The DOJ has also begun the process of dismissing lawsuits against the police departments in Minneapolis and Louisville.
