AHL president and CEO Scott Howson announced on Sunday at BMO Center that the Rockford IceHogs will host the 2026 AHL All-Star Classic. The skills competition will be held on Feb. 10 and the All-Star Game on Feb. 11. The AHL will also hold its Hall of Fame induction and award ceremony on Feb. 11.

A major event is coming to Rockford next February as the BMO Center will be hosting the 2026 All-Star Classic American Hockey League President Scott Howson spoke to the crowd Sunday afternoon to make the announcement.

The AHL’s most talented players will be coming to Rockford all at once next February for the two-day AHL All-Star Classic. This is something the IceHogs and our community leaders have wanted to host for some time now,

Elias Pettersson is headed to the 2025 AHL All-Star Classic. The 20-year-old rookie defenceman will represent the Abbotsford Canucks at this year's event, which will take place in Palm Desert, California.

Cull, who represented Calgary at last season’s AHL All-Star Classic, moved to the Flames as an interim assistant coach Dec. 22. With Cull moving to the Flames, Cirella shifted from assistant coach with the AHL affiliate to coach.

Rockford is an All-Star city. This past week, the Rockford IceHogs were building up excitement for a big announcement. It came Sunday during the first intermission of their game against the Milwaukee Admirals.
