The Buffalo Sabres have put together two very well played games and arenow 5-2-1 in their last eight games. Buffalo walked into Ottawa and shutout theSenators 4-0 behind Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen’s 35 save shutout.
Jack Quinn notched a pair of goals versus his hometown team. Thursday was a happy homecoming for Sabres forward Jack Quinn, whose pair of early goals led Buffalo to a 4-0 shutout of the Ottawa Senators at Canadian Tire Centre. Quinn, an Ottawa native, had plenty of guests in attendance to watch him give the Sabres a 2-0 lead in the first period.
The Senators (19-18-3) left the ice to a chorus of boos after the Buffalo Sabres handed them their fourth straight loss (0-3-1). Ottawa was playing its first game on home ice since Dec. 14 after they were forced on the road for nine games due to the world junior hockey championship. It was hardly the homecoming anyone expected.

Buffalo went on to double their lead in the second period, as Nick Jensen flipped a pass right to Dylan Cozens, who beat Anton Forsberg at the 4:11 mark, and 6 minutes later, a Ryan McLeod shot deflected in off of Thomas Chabot making it 4-0 Buffalo. A whole lot of "Yikes" without much to put into the positive column.

The losing woes continue to curse the Ottawa Senators as they currently sit on a four game losing streak after the four-zip shutout from the Buffalo Sabres. With this loss, the team is now three points outside the second and final wild card playoff spot currently held by the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Mattias Samuelsson remained absent from the Buffalo Sabres’ practice at KeyBank Center on Friday due to an illness and is not expected to play against the Seattle Kraken on Saturday, coach Lindy Ruff said.
The Buffalo Sabres have needed center Ryan McLeod to step up after Jiri Kulich suffered a lower-body injury and is out week-to-week. McLeod has done just that in the last two games with his overall play.
