INDIANAPOLIS – It’s time for the 109th Running of the Indianapolis 500. Hundreds of thousands of fans will pack the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Sunday to see the “Greatest Spectacle in Racing.”

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander showed his appreciation for his Oklahoma City Thunder teammates several ways after winning the 2025 NBA Most Valuable Player award.

The Oklahoma City Thunder and Cleveland Cavaliers, the top seeds in the playoffs and owners of the best regular-season records in the NBA, find themselves in dire need of wins as they host Game 5s in the conference semifinals on Tuesday night.

If the grandstands don’t reach capacity, Indianapolis Motor Speedway implements a local television blackout in which the race can only be watched inside the city later that day on replay.

Thunder guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander secured the NBA’s 2024-25 Most Valuable Player award, becoming the third OKC player to win the MVP award.

A change of scenery certainly served the Cleveland Cavaliers well. They made themselves right at home in Indy.
