Florida State is prioritizing a few local prospects in the 2026 class as the areas around Tallahassee are filled with a talented group of rising seniors. Four-star defensive end Camron Brooks has been a name to know on the Seminoles' recruiting board since he picked up an offer from the program over two years ago.

The Florida State Seminoles have made an audacious declaration about its plan to restore collegiate football dominance by hiring Gus Malzahn as offensive coordinator and Tony White as defensive coordinator.

Earlier this week, head coach Mike Norvell made his way through the Sunshine State to meet with a plethora of recruits. Two of the notable stops were Norvell checking in with a pair of Florida State pledges, four-star safety Darryl Bell III and three-star safety Tedarius Hughes.

One veteran member of Florida State's program who was thought to be moving on to the professional level is now expecting to vie for another year of collegiate eligibility. According to Warchant's Matt Lasarre, redshirt senior linebacker DJ Lundy has applied for an NCAA waiver that will allow him to suit up in 2025.

Ionata is the son of former FSU offensive lineman Joey Ionata, who played for the Seminoles from 1984-88. Ionata was a full-time starter during his final two years with the program and was an AP All-American honorable mention in 1988. The younger Ionata also has an older brother, Joseph Ionata, who signed with Alabama in 2023.

On Friday, FSU head coach Mike Norvell made his way through the Sunshine State. He took the time to drop through Pace High School to visit with four-star offensive lineman Grant Wise. The Seminoles are clearly making Wise a priority along the trenches as offensive line coach Herb Hand was in to see him earlier this week.

Florida State was recruiting linebacker Caleb LaVallee before he signed with North Carolina, hosting him for a pair of visits where he was joined by his parents and younger brother, Noah. Flash forward to 2025 and Caleb has transferred to Tallahassee to continue his college career while Noah is a rising senior who is picking up interest from P4 programs.

Toodle pledged to the Tigers back in July but his recruitment is still picking up. Outside of the Seminoles, Georgia also offered him earlier this month. Toodle was last on Florida State's campus in April of last year for an unofficial visit. The coaching staff will need to prioritize getting him back to town in the near future.
