You can convert any Word document to an editable Google Doc by uploading it to Google Drive.

After the upload is complete, navigate to ‘Recent’ on the left sidebar to find your uploaded Word document. Right-click on the file, choose ‘Open with’, and then select ‘Google Docs’.
