Video games that feature impressive AI pathfinding allow NPCs (non-player characters) to navigate and move through the game world realistically and believably.
I'm curious about video game mapping. Is there an underlying, unseen standard or hex grid used for movement/pathfinding? if so, is pathfinding partially based on a value system for, say, hex's?
