A woman was hit and killed in Winston-Salem on Friday night, according to a Winston-Salem Police Department news release. Around 7 p.m., 45-year-old April Dew Gregory was hit in the 500 block of Waughtown Avenue while walking in the road.

Officers with the Winston-Salem Police Department are looking for the driver who hit and killed a woman Friday night. Officials said the crash occurred in the 500 block of Waughtown Street just after 7 p.m. Police said in a news release that April Dew Gregory, 45, was walking when someone hit her with a vehicle. Gregory died at the scene.
