MORE flooding is possible as rain and wind is set to continue sweeping across parts of the UK on Tuesday. Gusts of 84mph and almost 60mm of rainfall have battered much of southern England. More

Storm Herminia has brought wind and heavy rain to much of Wales and southern England, with a major incident being declared in Somerset. More than 100 people have been evacuated in the south-western county following flooding in the early hours of Monday, as well as power cuts across the region.

Back-to-back storms have caused severe flooding across western France, hitting some areas with the worst flooding in 40 years. Watch this video to see how rescue teams were able to reach people stranded in their homes.

Residents in western France used boats to escape their flooded homes on January 27 as rivers and waterways broke their banks after successive storms battered Normandy and Brittany.
