Sam Moore, an influential R&B artist and half of the iconic soul duo Sam & Dave, has died. He was 89. News of his passing was confirmed by his publicist Jeremy Westby, who said in a statement shared with Parade that Moore died at his home in Coral Gables, Fla., on the morning of Friday, Jan. 10 due to complications while recovering from surgery.
