Grab your raincoat, because it’s going to be a wet weekend in the Portland area. There’s a 100% chance of rain Saturday, according to the National Weather Service. The high will be about 49 degrees. Up to 1/2 inch of precipitation is expected.

Some areas around Salem and to the south are going to get slammed with an atmospheric river starting Saturday- mainly Saturday night into Sunday morning. Those areas could see 2 inches of rain in a 24-hour period (Saturday afternoon to Sunday afternoon) which is quite significant.

A series of very wet days are in Portland’s near future as storm systems roll through the region bringing widespread rain, breezy winds, and heavy Cascade snow Friday and throughout the weekend, according to the National Weather Service.
