Mumbai cab driver from Govandi allegedly committed suicide by jumping from the Bandra-Worli Sea Link early on September 20. His body was later recovered near Dadar Chowpatty.

Mumbai: A person allegedly died by suicide after jumping from the Bandra-Worli Sea Link in Mumbai on Friday, officials said. However, according to Mumbai Police, the reason for suicide is not clear yet.

Worli Police Station received information at 7:30 am on Friday that the body of the person who jumped was found in the jurisdiction of Dadar Police Station. The body was sent to Nair Hospital for further action.

The Bombay High Court directed the University of Mumbai to hold its senate elections on September 24, after staying a state government circular that postponed the polls. The elections have been pending for two years due to discrepancies and state interference.

The petitioners sought direction to quash and set aside the state’s decision and MU’s circular and pending hearing of their plea, the same be stayed.

Mumbai: The Bombay High Court has instructed University of Mumbai to go ahead with the senate election as was planned on Sunday. On Friday night, Maharashtra government issued a circular postponing the election till further notice.
