A Florida federal judge on Wednesday declined to release additional grand jury documents from the criminal investigation into Jeffrey Epstein, marking the first roadblock in the Justice Department’s efforts to quell the public backlash over the handling of the case.

Trump had directed Attorney General Pam Bondi to release “any and all pertinent" grand jury documents as pressure continues to mount on the administration over Epstein.

A judge on Wednesday rejected a Trump administration request to unseal transcripts from grand jury investigations of Jeffrey Epstein years ago in Florida, saying the request doesn’t meet any of the extraordinary exceptions under federal law that could make them public.
