The death toll from a "targeted attack" by the Israeli military on a Beirut suburb Friday rose to 37, including seven women and three children, Lebanon's health minister said on Saturday, as Israel and the militant group Hezbollah continued to trade strikes. The U.S. also urged Americans in Lebanon to leave the country.

Hezbollah fired medium-range rockets toward areas south of Haifa on Sunday morning local time, significantly expanding the range of its attacks against Israel. Why it matters: Most of the rockets were intercepted by Israel or hit open areas but the attack signaled another escalation in the fighting between Israel and Hezbollah.

On Saturday, the IDF announced new restrictions on communities in northern Israel and parts of the southern Golan Heights starting at 20:30 local time (17:30 GMT).
