Los Angeles is a city of stars, so it was only fitting that Lionel Messi was back in the Inter Miami starting lineup for the Concacaf Champions Cup quarterfinal game against LAFC late Wednesday night.

The 37-year-old’s first full 90 minutes after returning from injury was not enough to inspire victory for the Herons. Inter Miami are 0-1 down after the first leg.

Messi has been recovering from a groin injury suffered earlier this month. He's available, but it remains to be seen how much. And he's far from the only Miami player who can give the Union trouble.
