Netflix's surprise hit will take over theaters around the world from Aug. 23-25, and fans are likely to stock up on tees and more merch ahead of the karaoke parties.

Netflix’s animated megahit owes its success, in part, to a technique that dates back to the earliest days of animation.

Netflix is hosting the special two-day event in North America over the Aug. 22-24 weekend. The singalong will also play in theaters in the U.K., Australia and New Zealand.

“Every so often a film comes along that captures the world’s imagination,” says VIEW Conference director Maria Elena Gutierrez. “‘KPop Demon Hunters” is one of those films, and I could not be more excited to welcome its two talented directors to our stage here in beautiful Turin.”

Now, after a drought of 28 years, a soundtrack has generated three Hot 100 top 10s once again: Netflix’s animated KPop Demon Hunters. The set slays with HUNTR/X ’s “Golden,” which hit No. 1 on the Aug. 16 chart, and Saja Boys ’ “Your Idol” and “Soda Pop.”

A whopping 88 percent of South Korea’s first-half 2025 global SVOD announcements came from the top global streamer. Unfortunately, even the Korean-content focus there has shifted toward unscripted.
