Hurricane forecasters have their eyes on a tropical disturbance brewing off the coast of the Southeast United States that has a moderate chance of formation into a cyclone − but could become a tropical or subtropical depression as early as the Fourth of July holiday weekend.

The Fourth of July holiday weekend could include a subtropical or tropical depression from near Florida to off the Southeast coast.

According to an AccuWeather map, Florida, Missouri, Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, Kentucky, Tennessee, and parts of Arkansas and Louisiana will be affected by gusty storms and locally heavy rains over the weekend which can disrupt outdoor plans amid possible tropical development near the coast.
