The Georgia Department of Agriculture said it has confirmed a case of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) at a commercial poultry operation in Gordon County.
In just 22 days, a new avian influenza outbreak has hit 18 farms in Indiana, leading to more than 92,000 chickens and ducks being killed. On Wednesday, the Indiana Board of Animal Health put three more farms under quarantine.

Bird Flu Quarantines 13 Indiana Farms
A total of 13 northern Indiana farms are under quarantine in the latest outbreak of bird flu, with three more added to the Indiana Board of Animal Health’s list on Monday.
Darlene Konkle, a state veterinarian with the Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection, said the current strain of the bird flu was detected in Wisconsin in 2022. Largely, the cases pop up around the spring or fall, during the time that wild waterfowl are migrating.
