It was revealed at CinemaCon earlier this year that some kind of Scary Movie reboot was in the works over at Paramount. That was enough to get fans of the satirical horror franchise excited, but little did anyone know the best news was still yet to come.

Jonathan Glickman, Miramax’s boss, released a statement following the announcement. Glickman also referenced a return to Scary Movie glory in his remarks, explaining that their decision to tap the Wayans Bros. was based on bringing back their “unique comedic vision” to the franchise.

"We’re looking forward to having fun on the big screen again," said Wayans, who will co-write the movie with his brothers Shawn Wayans and Keenan Ivory Wayans.
