Police did not identify the pilot who was killed. The plane departed Sunday morning from Princeton Airport and was headed to Raleigh-Durham International Airport in North Carolina, the FAA said.

The crash happened around 10:35 a.m. in a wooded area. The FAA confirmed that a Cirrus SR22 had departed Princeton Airport en route to Raleigh-Durham International Airport in North Carolina.
